Painting like MichelangloMrs. Colonna's Art class travels to Italy! We learned about how the Italian Renaissance artists were groundbreaking individuals whose artwork changed the way we create and observe Art. Students had a choice between two activities...draw a "new" Mona Lisa like DaVinci or paint like Michelanglo. Most students wanted to experience painting like Michelanglo who was famous for painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Students pretended to paint on a ceiling by taping a piece of paper under their tables and use paint to create their own masterpieces. We were able to appreciate how hard it must of been for Michelanglo to paint that way. Even though it was difficult it was a lot of FUN!"
